Just want to update on the RAM situation of my computer. I didn't add any RAM in the end, and it seems I don't need to...problem solved by:-
(1) Uninstalled the Panda security suite which was definately a memory hog, installed a standalone anti-virus and an anti-spyware instead.
(2) Bought the Linksys router suggested by Shri (that was the best purchase I have made EVER!)
(3) Scrubbed clean with FreeRamXPPro (free), Window Washer (free when you purchase their Spysweeper), and Eusing Registry Cleaner (free)
And my computer has since worked beautifully (and FAST!)
